Children and young people from Dundee, Dumfries and Stirling will have posters exhibited at the Scottish Parliament this weekend after winning the St Andrew’s Day poster competition.

The competition, held by the Scottish Government to mark Scotland’s national day, attracted around a thousand entries from around the country.
The three winners from the pre-school, primary and secondary categories will have their work on display alongside the runners-up.

Education Secretary Michael Russell said:

“St Andrew’s Day is the ideal time to celebrate all that is great about Scotland – our people and history as well as our traditional and contemporary culture.

“This poster competition has clearly captured the imagination of children and young people across the country, with a fantastic standard across the board.

“I understand that judging the winners was very difficult indeed, but particular congratulations are due to children and young from Fintry Early Years Centre, Shawhead Primary School and Stirling Social Emotional and Behavioural Needs Services,”

“However, I’d like to thank every school and pupil who took part in the competition and wish them a happy St Andrew’s Day.”
