Engage for Education live from Dundee
Engage for Education went on the road to Dundee last night for the most recent of our public events series, which was hosted by Morgan Academy.
Michael Russell, Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning and Michael Kellet, Head of Schools People and Places joined a panel that included Bill Maxwell, HM Senior Chief Inspector of Education, Jim Collins, Director of Education, Dundee City Council and Reid Hutchison, National Parent Forum of Scotland for a lively question and answer session that covered many diverse issues.
Around 80 parents, educators and members of the local authority formed a wide ranging audience and the panel addressed a broad range of topic including: difficulties presented by the parental complaint procedure in education, new ways to involve pupils in the decision making process, improving transitions from primary to secondary, the “all through campus” model, the new curriculum, early years support within schools for vulnerable young mothers and help for newly qualified teachers to gain employment.
