Engage up for top online award
There is an excited buzz at Engage for Education this week as we are delighted be recognised by the prestigious
e-Government National Awards.
These awards focus on rewarding the most innovative and effective uses of technology to connect the public to government services and winners will be announced later this week.
Engage for Education has been selected as a finalist in two categories:
- e-Government excellence: Innovation in strategy on a national level
- Central e-Government excellence: Team category
This recognition comes as the site reached a landmark 100,000 hits and recently recorded it’s most successful week to date.
Education Secretary Michael Russell said:
This is an innovative, unique and ground breaking participation project and people across Scotland are speaking out and sharing their thoughts and ideas on the issues that matter to them, reading blogs from Ministers and guests, posting comments and getting involved in workshops on important education issues. And the fact that Engage for Education has now been recognised in a UK competition speaks volumes about its success.
Susie Braham (Stakeholder Communications and Engagement, Learning Directorate) added:
To be shortlisted for the Awards is great news and should help us to further raise awareness of the website, reach new audiences and increase wider recognition for this type of working. I am especially delighted that the nomination recognises the contribution of the team who developed and implemented this project. Congratulations to them.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our all online users for their continuing support and participation in the Engage for Education Community.
