#EduScotICT: Post Summit update
On 17 October the Scottish Government held an ICT in Education Summit in Stirling. Introduced by Michael Russell, the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning the focus of the summit was on learning and teaching and how technology in schools can improve this.
Well attended both in-person and online by participants representing all sectors of the education community, it was a convergence point for the discussion that has been taking place since the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning’s announcement on the future of Glow and ICT in Education.
Re-live The Discussion
The events of the day have been well captured and documented by a number of reflective posts and twitter comments – accessible through the hash tag #eduscotict. The event structure, participants and speakers list can still be viewed on the ICT Summit Wiki.
What Happens Next?
Scottish Government is considering the main points raised in the discussion to date and they will inform the decisions that shape the future of ICT in Education. We will be announcing details of these, including the development of the next generation of Glow, over the next few months.
Engagement with stakeholders will continue through a process of direct dialogue and the Engage for Education website.
