CfE Films Feedback
We recently created four new short films on the impact and benefits of CfE in Scotland’s schools since its official introduction in public-funded schools 18 months ago. They explore some of the possibilities it has opened up for Scotland’s learners, as told by the learners’ themselves, their teachers and parents.
These films were developed in conjunction with the National Parent Forum of Scotland. You can find out more about them and watch all four films.
As with all of the materials we produce we’d like to hear or know of any feedback you might have on them, both to let us know how successful they are and to help us refine our future communications material.
Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!

Wouldn’t the money making these pieces of political propaganda be better spent getting some unbiased academics to actually analyze the initial impact of CfE?
In a totally unscientific analysis, what I and colleagues have seen amongst the 2011-2012 S1 cohort compared to the last pre-CfE cohort is:
*significant inability to focus on single tasks / work under own direction
*markedly poorer social skills, especially consideration for others
*weaker literacy and numeracy skills
*over-reliance on cut & paste/plagiarism from IT as opposed to thinking
*poor knowledge base
On a more positive note, CfE has demonstrated:
*the major structural and organisational weaknesses of the SQA to a wider audience (previously parents/ general public thought stories about the SQA were exaggerated for effect!)
*the importance of parental involvement
*the continued ability of over-worked, under-supported teachers to turn a sow’s ear into a polyester purse!
